The Avalon Solo Adventure system is a group oriented, party based choose your own adventure campaign setting that consists of multiple adventuring books for different types of parties. I have played around with it a little before, and am now trying it out again. This is my starting team, I rolled the stats, provided character class and background, and asked ChatGPT to name, and describe the characters and their background.

Sylvia by ChatGPT

Sylvia “Quickstep” Tanner grew up running errands and lifting purses in the back alleys of Port Wainwright, where life was as hard as the cobbles under her bare feet. The daughter of no one important and the friend of every stray cat in the docks, she learned early to keep her eyes sharp and her feet sharper. Now seventeen and finally armed with a proper shortbow and a set of daggers she doesn’t have to steal twice, Lydia has decided to risk her life for something better than another cold night behind a fishmonger’s stall. She’s wiry and small-boned, with short chestnut hair hacked unevenly to keep it out of her green eyes. A faded cloak hides her lean frame, and her belt and boots are full of secret pockets for throwing knives. Though her voice still carries the accent of the streets, her gaze misses nothing, and her smile hints at a thief’s confidence just beginning to turn into courage.

Edwin Marlowe by ChatGPT

Edwin Marlowe was once the quietest apprentice in the candlelit halls of the Royal Collegium, a scholar more at home among dusty tomes than among people. Years of patient study trained him to see what others overlook — the faint shimmer of enchantment on a relic, the tiny glyph out of place in a warding circle, the hesitation in a liar’s tone. Gifted with a razor intellect and an unyielding curiosity, Edwin’s pursuit of forgotten knowledge finally drew him from the safety of the library to the peril of the open road. He is tall and spare, with pale skin and perpetually ink-stained fingers. His brown hair hangs in loose disarray, framing gray eyes that seem to catalog everything they see. His robes are simple but meticulously kept, the hems weighted with hidden stitching for quick access to components and his well-worn spellbook. Though soft-spoken, there is an intensity in his gaze that hints he studies the world not just to understand it — but to master it.

Ronan Vale by ChatGPT

Ronan Vale served ten years in the Duke’s levy, first as a raw recruit and later as a squad leader known for keeping his head when the arrows started to fall. He fought in the rain, the mud, and the snow — not for glory, but because someone had to hold the line. When the last war ended and his company disbanded, Ronan found himself restless and half-lost without orders to follow. Now he sells his sword and his discipline to those who need it most, hoping that purpose might be found again on the road. He’s a broad-shouldered man in his late twenties, his dark hair trimmed short to fit beneath a helmet, his brown eyes steady and calm even in chaos. His chainmail bears the dull sheen of long use, and his warhammer is kept clean but unadorned — a soldier’s tool, not a knight’s ornament. Though his manner is respectful and quiet, there’s a tempered authority in his voice that marks him as someone who’s led men into battle and lived to tell of it.

Garrick Hale by ChatGPT

Garrick Hale earned his name in the borderlands, where bandits once plagued the logging camps and caravans until a lone hunter began striking from the treeline with uncanny precision. The folk of those parts still speak of “the Ghost of the Green Road,” though Garrick himself only smiles and says he was just doing what needed to be done. Born to farmers but bred by hardship, he learned to track, hunt, and fight with quiet resolve, defending those who could not defend themselves. Now he walks the wild trails again — this time in search of purpose beyond his home valley. Garrick is lean and broad-shouldered, his dark blond hair tied back, his gray-green eyes sharp beneath a weathered hood. His leather armor bears the scars of years in the wild, and his longbow never leaves his grasp. Calm, deliberate, and humble, he speaks little — but when he draws an arrow, his aim speaks for him.
